Earlier this week XPRIZE announced the 20 finalist teams selected to compete in the last stage of XPRIZE Carbon Removal. These finalists were selected from more than 1,300 teams from countries around the world.
The final stage of the competition will take place over the next year as finalist teams are challenged to demonstrate 1,000 net tonnes of CO2 removal. These demonstrations will be judged on their fully considered cost, operational performance, and ability to meet sustainable scalability requirements.
The grand prize winner will receive $50M in April 2025 and $30M will be distributed among the runners up.
