New York City Public TV Station Seeking Area Professionals for Upcoming Math Show

THIRTEEN

THIRTEEN, New York's flagship public television station, is looking for NYC-based professionals from a variety of fields, including those related to social and environmental responsibility, to serve as on-camera "experts" for an upcoming project called "Do the Math" (working title) whose goal is to promote algebraic thinking among teens/tweens through connections to real-world careers. This program will be a reality-type show in which tween/teen students meet professionals in different fields and are given algebra challenges related to those careers.

THIRTEEN would want to interview the experts at their workplace and bring the kids to meet them and perform some type of algebra challenge with them. THIRTEEN is hoping to find experts who are outgoing, articulate, and comfortable with the math involved in their job.

THIRTEEN is hoping to begin taping in February. If you're interested in more information about this opportunity please contact Michelle via e-mail at chenm [at] thirteen [dot] org and mention that you heard about this opportunity via Green Jobs Network.
