Green Jobs Network has announced that Net Impact University of Cincinnati (Net Impact UC) has become a GJN Campus Affiliate. Net Impact UC is playing a leading role on the University of Cincinnati campus in connecting students to green career resources and employment opportunities.
Students within Net Impact UC created the first green jobs fair at the University of Cincinnati to bridge the gap between student demand for sustainability-related positions and employer demand for green talent. This fair is called the Green Jobs Initiative which is an addition to a larger university career fair that recruits and highlights employers hiring for roles that align with the green jobs definition created by Net Impact UC. Concluding the pilot of the first Green Jobs Initiative on campus in the spring of 2023, they hosted over 50 green job employers and received positive feedback.
The group is in the midst of planning for their second Green Jobs Initiative, which will be integrated in the Fall 2023 Professional and Technical Career Fair on campus. If you are an employer looking to tap into a passionate and ambitious student talent pool to meet your green job roles, reach out to [email protected]. More information can be found on UC’s career fair page here.
Green Jobs Network is supporting Net Impact UC in a number of ways including building a green internships board and providing advice to the organization’s leaders as they plan career programs.
