Green Jobs Network (GJN) has launched a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for its climate job board, ClimateChangeJobs.com. The server connects the board to Claude, Anthropic’s AI assistant, giving job seekers real-time access to the board’s 25,000+ job postings while using Claude.
GJN built the connector on MCP, an open standard that links AI applications to external data sources. Once connected, Claude searches ClimateChangeJobs.com directly — users describe what they want in plain language, and Claude returns current listings with links to apply.
How it helps job seekers
Job seekers can now leverage the capabilities of Claude with the grounded, comprehensive job listings provided by Green Jobs Network to uncover opportunities, gain insights, and take action to support their search.
The following prompts provide an illustration of what job seekers can do with this functionality enabled in Claude:
- “Show me jobs where I can help if i’m passionate about protecting birds.”
- “I have a marketing background — what climate jobs on ClimateChangeJobs.com could use my skills?”
- “Search ClimateChangeJobs.com for legal roles posted this month.”
- “Show me recent conservation jobs and draft a tailored cover letter.”
- “Find entry-level climate policy positions and summarize what they have in common.”
How to set it up
Setup requires a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise). Here are the installation instructions:
- Open Claude → Settings → Connectors
- Click Add custom connector
- Name:

What it does
The connector provides three functions:
- Search jobs — by keyword, category, employer, or posting date
- Get job details — the full description for a specific listing
- Get employer information — details about a hiring organization
The connector runs read-only. It searches public job listings only and requires no account or personal information.

This is the first MCP implementation in the climate & sustainability jobs sector and builds upon GJN’s legacy of innovation to serve job seekers who want to make an impact.
