GM Ventures, LLC, headquartered in Detroit, MI, is a recently formed corporate venture capital arm of General Motors, LLC. GM Ventures primary mission is to identify and fund early-stage startup companies that will accelerate the introduction of innovative technologies and enhance GM's competitiveness. GM Ventures is focusing on investments in "cleantech." Infotainment, smart materials, value chain / business model and other technologies as required. A small dedicated team is currently evaluating over 50 companies, and has $100 million available for potential investments. We are committed to quality – in the services we provide and in the people that join our team. GM Ventures is seeking a Manager for its business development team, who is a dynamic self-starter with 5 plus years experience to help cultivate our rapidly growing venture team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Proactively identify, evaluate and develop new business leads from initial assessment to final agreements and investment via rigorous and fast due diligence
- External networking and referrals from venture capitalists, universities, and industry associations, and conferences,
- Working with the GM Ventures team and internally networking with the appropriate technical experts, functions and business units to align prospective investments with the needs of the business
