The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Conservancy, headquartered in West Sacramento, CA, is seeking an Executive Officer. An independent State agency within the California Natural Resources Agency, the Conservancy was established in 2009 with co-equal goals of environmental protection and economic well-being of Delta residents. Reporting to an eleven member Board, the Executive Officer manages a staff of 7. The proposed budget is approximately $1.3M; based on the fund development efforts of the new Executive Officer the total budget amount could expand to approximately $1-2 billion within the next 1-2 years.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and entrepreneurial leader who is familiar with the broad spectrum of issues in and around the Delta. The successful candidate will be a seasoned executive who can work collaboratively and cooperatively at the highest levels of state, federal, and local governments to coordinate ecosystem restoration and economic sustainability projects and who possesses the strategic understanding, relationship skills, and political astuteness to implement the Board’s vision.
