The application deadline is November 30, 2025 for the next cohort of the DC Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) Green Fellows Leadership and Development Program.
The program offers paid opportunities for graduate students to explore green careers in the public sector while gaining professional development, networking, training, and other leadership experience. There are four fellowships available in this cohort:
- Urban Sustainability Administration Green Fellow
- Environmental Services Administration Green Fellow
- Clean Transportation & Infrastructure Green Fellow
- Building Performance Green Fellow
Fellows work a minimum of 24 hours per week starting in February 2026 through September 30, 2026.
Applicants must either be:
- A District resident enrolled into a Master’s-degree program, or
- Enrolled into a local area college or university’s Master’s-degree program (District residency is preferred, but not required)
