Washington DC Green Job Breakfast Series to Take Place July 19-22 and July 26-29 (Free Event)

The Washington, DC Green Jobs Breakfast Series is a series of programs presented by Columbia Heights/Shaw Family Support Collaborative and Urban Solar Solutions.  These programs will be led by Ellen McBarnette, Esq. (Founder of Urban Solar Solutions, LLC, member of the Maryland Clean Energy Advisory Board and the Prince George’s County Workforce Investment Board) and feature additional guest speakers.

The schedule of programs is:

July 19 - Introduction to Green Jobs
July 20 - Opportunities in Sustainable Landscaping
July 21 - Opportunities in Energy Efficiency
July 22 - Opportunities in Alternative Energy
July 26 - Opportunities in Green Building Performance
July 27 - Urban Agriculture and the Local “Slow” Food Movement
July 28 - Emerging Fields: Green Transportation, the Smart Grid and other emerging areas
July 29 - Green Workforce Development: Advice for all interested in pursuing green career opportunities.

These programs will take place from 8:00 – 10:00 am (brown bag breakfast encouraged) at the Thurgood Marshall Center, 1816 12th Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20012.  These events are free and open to the public, but space is limited.  Registration for each day’s session is required.  Contact Petra Caines at pcaines [at] chsfsc.org or 202-518-6737 to RSVP.
