Washington Metro Green Job Fair to Take Place on February 27, 2009

Washington Metro Green Job Fair

On February 27, 2009 the Virginia Sustainable Building Network and Green Careers Center will present the Washington Metro Green Job Fair.  Program highlights will include: 

  • Employers in the energy and environmental fields with both “hands on” and policy jobs.
  • Presentations on the new federal economic recovery initiatives and the potential for Green Job growth in Virginia, Washington, DC and Maryland.
  • Ideas on job skills and academic background necessary for the new Green economy.

This event will take place from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm at the Westin Arlington Gateway, 801 North Glebe Road, Arlington, Virginia (Near the Ballston Metro Station).  For more information:

  1. It’s cool to see that there are green jobs out there. I did some searching on some of the major job boards and did not see many.

  2. There will be more green jobs soon. As someone who works for a job board – – I’m curious to see if Obama’s promise pans out. It seems this New Deal will be decidely green as we employe people seeking out alternative enrgery sources, etc. One interesting upshot will be whether these are legit government employees or private sector contractors.
