The Tropical Ecology, Assessment and Monitoring (TEAM) Director of Operations and Finance leads the strategy and implementation of all operations, grants and financial aspects of the TEAM Network multi-institution partnership. This includes leading the development and implementation of all operational standards, for all TEAM Network activities, including those executed by international and local partners. The Director reports directly to the Vice President, TEAM Initiative and is responsible for ensuring compliance of all institutions with TEAM operational standards, as well as integration and compliance of TEAM partnership standards with CI standards and processes. This position supervises TEAM's operational staff members. This is a highly visible position that requires complex negotiation with internal and external partners and regular interaction with all levels of staff across the TEAM partner institutions.
The Director plays a key role in supporting the scientific integrity and expansion of the TEAM network, including: leading the development and analysis of alternative scenarios for the operational and financial expansion of the TEAM Network; leading the development of 5-year and 1-year joint, multi-institution workplans and budgets; leading development of budgeting and reporting processes for the partnership; and providing guidance and information to the TEAM Partnership Steering Committee, comrprising senior leadership of partner institutions, including CI. The Director oversees all aspects of TEAM financial management, including planning and modeling, budgeting, performance monitoring and overall financial management. (S)he oversees production of monthly, quarterly and annual grants and financial reports for TEAM. (S)he oversees management of all grants related activities, including reporting to donors and grantee reporting to TEAM/CI. The director ensures that requisite support for TEAM fund raising activities is provided. The Director ensures that TEAM is in compliance with all CI policies and procedures and donor legal, accounting and reporting standards and is the liaison to other administrative and operational teams in CI's Science and Knowledge Division, and to CI Finance, Human Resources and Operations groups.
