2011 Green Professionals Conference is January 26 in Portland (Discount Available)

The Green Professionals 2011 Conference will take place on January 26, 2011 in Portland, Oregon. This event, hosted by Fluid Market Strategies, will provide educational sessions and networking opportunities to individuals currently employed or seeking opportunities in the green economy.  The conference will have four tracks (Energy Efficiency, Renewables, Sustainability, and Green Jobs) and the most recent version of the agenda can be viewed here.  This conference builds on a successful event in 2010 which drew more 600 attendees.

The position is responsible for leading the execution and ongoing management of a few key climate programs including current and future client contracts in Oregon, Colorado and elsewhere. These programs are multi-faceted, and include carbon financing and acquisition activities that support our client’s needs as well as the mission and growth of The Climate Trust. The position requires an individual with a mix of superior interpersonal, client management, negotiation, finance, and project evaluation skills across different sectors including renewable energy, agriculture, transportation, and forestry. The Program Manager must be a lead contributor as well as a guide for the work of others to achieve the timely production of high quality deliverables that meet client deadlines and adhere to fixed budgets.

  • A career fair featuring more than 25 organizations
  • Free information sessions offering nonprofit career advice to job seekers
  • An informal networking period for nonprofit recruiters and representatives from local colleges and university Offices of Career Services.

Metro is the regional government that protects open space and parks, plans for land use and transportation, and manages garbage disposal and recycling for 1.4 million residents in three counties and 25 cities in the Portland, Oregon, region.

The Communications Coordinator will initiate, develop and coordinate programs that successfully communicate the accomplishments of Metro's Natural Areas, Parks and Streams bond measure program to the public. The ideal candidate will have the ability to think strategically and provide coordination between individual program areas and other agency goals and objectives; write clearly and concisely, and use the written language to both convey information and create interest in the reader; and utilize a full suite of technical skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint; digital production procedures, including scanners, color printers and digital cameras; and web site content management systems, HTML and web publishing software systems.

Urban League of Portland’s Career Connections Fair To Take Place on April 21

The Urban League of Portland will present its annual Career Connections job fair on April 21st, with the theme of "Bridges to Sustainable Jobs."  This event will take place from 10 am – 4 pm at the World Trade Center 2, 121 SW Salmon St, Portland, OR 97204.  This event will include panel sessions on topics including "Opportunities in Renewable Energy" and "Where Are the Green Jobs?" and the opportunity to meet with representatives of employers from Oregon and Washington.

Portland Green Jobs Fair to Take Place on March 27

On March 27th, the Green Jobs Fair at the Energy Trust Better Living Show will take place in Portland, Oregon. This event is open to the public and will take place at the Portland Expo Center from noon – 4:00 PM. Organizations that will be participating in the fair include:
