San Francisco Green Job Fair Draws Hundreds

Washington Metro Green Job Fair

On January 26th a green job fair took place at The Commonwealth Club of California. This fair, organized by Green Jobs Network (which also publishes Green Collar Blog), was part of the program Getting Your Green Dream Job by the Commonwealth Club's INFORUM division.  The job fair featured the following organizations:

An informative panel program (audio available for free via iTunes) took place prior to the fair which provided job seekers with insights into current and future opportunities in careers that focus on social or environmental responsibility.

INFORUM of The Commonwealth Club to Present “Getting Your Green Dream Job” on January 26, 2009

INFORUM Division of The Commonwealth Club of California

On Monday, January 26, 2009 the INFORUM division of The Commonwealth Club of California will present a program entitled Getting Your Green Dream Job.  This program will include a panel presentation and career fair featuring employers and organizations that offer career development resources for individuals interested in careers that focus on environmental or social responsibility. 

This event will take place starting at 6:00 pm (5:30 pm check-in) at The Commonwealth Club, 595 Market Street, 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA  94105 (directions).  This program is free for Commonwealth Club members, $18 for non-members, and $7 for students (with valid ID).

World Affairs Council of Northern California

On Thursday, July 24, INFORUM of The Commonwealth Club will present a program Van Jones and Senator Darrell Steinberg: Green for All.  This program will present the following two speakers who will discuss the green collar job movement and the potential environmental and societal benefits of green economic development:

This event will take place starting at 6:30 pm (6:00 pm check-in) at the Blue Room of The Commonwealth Club, 595 Market Street, 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA  94105 (directions).  This program is $12 for members of The Commonwealth Club, $20 for non-members, and $7 for students (with valid ID).  This program is presented in association with the Environment and Natural Resources Member-Led Forum and is underwritten by 11th Hour Project.
