On October 8 – 9, a conference entitled Green California Community Colleges Summit will take place at the Pasadena Convention Center.  Some sessions at the conference will focus on themes relevant for green collar jobs, including "Educating the New Green Workforce" and "Meeting Current and Evolving Workforce Needs for the Green Economy."

“Green Collar Jobs – Myths and Realities” to Take Place in Los Angeles on August 17

On Sunday, August 17th, from 5:30 – 6:30 pm a program entitled Green Collar Jobs – Myths and Realities will take place in downtown Los Angeles (Grand Avenue between 2nd and 4th on Bunker Hill).  This program will feature the following:

“Find Your Solar Dream Job” to Take Place in San Diego on October 15

On October 15 from 6:30 – 8:00pm a program entitled Find Your Solar Dream Job will take place in San Diego.  This program will include Andy Black (On Grid Solar) and a panel of four solar companies and will provide an overview of job opportunities in solar as well as strategies for getting into the industry.  This event is taking place in conjunction with Solar Power International ’08 and Solar Energy Week.

Green Collar Job Mixers to Take Place in Hollywood and Encinitas, California on July 23 and 24

INFORUM of The Commonwealth Club to Present Program “Van Jones and Senator Darrell Steinberg: Green for All” on July 24

On Thursday, July 24, INFORUM of The Commonwealth Club will present a program Van Jones and Senator Darrell Steinberg: Green for All.  This program will present the following two speakers who will discuss the green collar job movement and the potential environmental and societal benefits of green economic development:

This event will take place starting at 6:30 pm (6:00 pm check-in) at the Blue Room of The Commonwealth Club, 595 Market Street, 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA  94105 (directions).  This program is $12 for members of The Commonwealth Club, $20 for non-members, and $7 for students (with valid ID).  This program is presented in association with the Environment and Natural Resources Member-Led Forum and is underwritten by 11th Hour Project.
